Our Trainers
Alastair and Pat Logan are our trainers. Both of them trained as family mediators and as trainers and supervisors/Consultants with Dr John Haynes, who is widely regarded as the founder of family mediation. He combines an extensive mediation Practice with world-wide and unequalled reputation as a mediation trainer both of lawyers and the Judiciary. John heads the Haynes Mediation Training Institute (HMTI) and has trained in many different legal jurisdictions in Europe, North America, and the Far East, Australia and New Zealand. He was Professor of Social Welfare at the State University of New York for 12 years where he taught Social Policy and Conflict Management and was the founding President of the Association of Family Mediators in the USA. As a trainer he has trained more than 20,000 professionals in mediation and conflict management, including more than 500 in the United Kingdom. His training programme has formed the core of family mediation training in this country. He is the Director of Studies of LawWise training.

Pat Logan
Pat trained as an accountant originally. She has wide commercial experience. For the last ten years Pat has been Practice Manager for the Logan Partnership Alastair's niche family law practice which has a franchise from the Legal Aid Board for Family work. She has qualifications as a debt counsellor and welfare benefits advisor. She has been involved on a daily basis with the family law side of the practice particularly in connection with the restructuring of family finances as a consequence of divorce or separation.

Alastair Logan
Alastair is a Family Lawyer with over 30 years experience practising in Guildford specialising in Family Law and Mediation. He is a member of the SFLA. He is also a Governor of the UK College

Both trained as family mediators with Dr John Haynes and undertook advanced family mediation training with John Haynes and with experienced mediators in the USA. Both also trained as commercial mediators with the Centre for Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in London JAMS/Endispute, the largest providers of Mediation in the US, in Boston, Massachusetts. Both are licensed as Trainers by the HMTI and as Supervisors by HTMI and FMA.
